The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Premiership 2021/2022 Season is set to Kick-off On The 8th Of December 2021. Fourteen teams have been separated into two groups that will contend for top spots at the end of the season. Group A. Heartland of Owerri Land Abdallah as Head Coach

Heartland Football Club of Owerri have appointed former Golden Eaglets assistant coach Hassan Abdallah as their New Technical Adviser ahead of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League Season. He replaced Fidelis Ilechukwu who resigned from his position weeks ago, having led the club to a 13th place finish in the Just concluded NPFL season. You will recall that Ilechukwu’s stay in Owerri was plagued by non-Salary Payments, massive players’ exodus and a run of poor results. Hassan will take charge of the team and oversee player signings with contention for the Silverware in the coming season expected to kick off in October. Hassan Abdallah is the older brother of former Enyimba coach Usman Abdallah, they both played for the Nigeria U-23 in the 1980s. Coach Abdallah arrives with a rich resume and repertoire of football Knowledge. The former player for Kano Pillars, Abiola Babes, Ranchers Bees, Gombe United, Sharks, Calabar Rovers, Rangers International and others. As a Coach he has had stints with Katsina Spotlight, Kano Pillars and the Flying Eagles of Nigeria in 2005. He asssisted Samson Siasia during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Asst Coach U-20 World Cup 2009, Assistant Coach Rio Olympics 2016, Assistant Coach Super Eagles 2016 His penchant for spotting talents comes naturally. He served with the U-20 national team at the U-20 world cup in 2019 in Poland as a Scout. He is currently the chief scout of the U-17 National team (Golden Eaglets) Coach Hassan Abdallah is in Owerri to meet with players and management. He has signed a 2-year deal with the Naze Millionaires.

Finidi George Signs 2 year Contract with Enyimba as Head Coach

Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enyimba International of Aba, have signed on former Nigeria international, Finidi George, as Technical Adviser of the club ahead of the forthcoming season. A top source at the Aba-based club confirmed to Inspiration 105.9 FM that there have been fruitful talks with the former Ajax winger and a 2 year contract has been signed. Coach Fatai Osho had confirmed his departure from Enyimba with an appreciation post on his official Facebook page at the end of last season paving way for Finidi to take over. The People’s Elephant will be on the Continent of Africa in the CAF confederations Cup having finished 3rd in the just concluded NPFL 2020/2021 Season

Adebayo Samuel. Rivers United of Port Harcourt successfully returned to their base ahead of the 2nd leg match against the Young Africans of Tanzania. Head Coach Stanley Eguma said his lads will not sit comfortable despite their 0-1 victory on the road. Eguma Said “We need to do more at home if we are to go through. We will not sit back and defend the one goal we scored,” His Tanzanian Counterpart Nasreddine Nabi, However says he is confident his charges will turn the tables in Nigeria when they Square up against the “Pride of Rivers” in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg, slated for Sunday Yanga will be seeking to turn tables on Rivers United FC after the two teams played in the showdown’s first leg at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday and the visitors won courtesy of a goal scored by Moses Omdumuke in the 51st minute of the tie. While Eguma applauded the performance of his team, and complained about the antics of the Tanzanians who were said to have attacked members of the Rivers’ contingent after they had ruled out 5 others due to COVID 19. Nabi blamed the defeat on poor pre-season preparations, saying they did not have enough time to prepare for the game. He also had no kind words for his charges for failing to utilize the plenty of scoring opportunities they created. Both gaffers expect a tougher second leg when the two sides clash on September 19 in Nigeria, knowing that a spot in the 2nd round of qualifiers will be at stake.
