Steven Gerrard Appointed Aston Villa Coach

Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard has been appointed as the new Aston Villa head Coach on a three-and-a-half-year deal to replace Dean Smith who got the boot last weekend.   Steven Gerrard left his role as Glasgow Rangers manager which would require compensation of between £3.25-4m to be paid to the Scottish giants for Gerrard and his assistant Gary McAllister.   “Stevie G” had been in charge of Glasgow Rangers since June 2018 and led the club to the Scottish Premiership title last season, ending Celtic’s nine-year reign as champions.   Villa sit 16th in the Premier League table, two points above the relegation zone after 11 games of their campaign.

Tottenham Hostpur Sack Coach Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Tottenham just four months after being appointed as head coach on a 2 year contract. The Club Board had said they were considering his future at the club after a dismal performance against Manchester United on Saturday. Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League, 10 points off leaders Chelsea, after the 3-0 home defeat.
With the departure of Nuno, who joined from Wolves in May after four seasons in charge, it means Tottenham are looking for their fourth permanent manager in the last three years.

Newcastle United Axe Steve Bruce

New owners of Newcastle United have sacked head coach Steve Bruce. This was made known in a release on the Club’s official website. Steve Bruce was expected to be replaced after the Saudi Arabian-backed consortium, led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), completed a £305m takeover of Newcastle on October 7. The Manager was in charge for the 3-2 defeat to Tottenham which left the team one spot shy of the bottom of the English Premier League table- His 1000th game as a Manager. The game had non-executive chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan and director Amanda Staveley in attendance at St James’ Park. Newcastle said the process of recruiting a new head coach is underway, as former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca has emerged as a top contender. The club are expected to hold talks with Fonseca this week. Graeme Jones will lead the team on an interim basis, starting with Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.
