Chelsea Sack Head Coach Graham Potter After Aston Villa Loss

Chelsea Football Club have sacked Graham Potter as their head coach. Potter was appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement on September 8 on a five-year deal, but has left the club just seven months into the contract, after winning only seven of his 22 Premier League games in charge. The former Brighton manager was sacked in a meeting on Sunday at 2.45pm, even though some Board members had called for his sack much earlier. Many believe the home loss to Aston Villa was the straw that broke the Camel’s back. Graham Potter’s assistant Billy Reid has also left the club. Assistant coach Bjorn Hamberg and goalkeeper coach Ben Roberts will remain and assist Bruno Saltor, who has been appointed as interim head coach. Chelsea face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals later this month but Potter’s departure follows Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa on Saturday night, a result which left the Blues 11th in the Premier League table, 12 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United. In 22 Premier League Matches, Graham Porter Managed 7 Wins, 7 Draws and 8 defeats. His teams scored and conceded 21 goals, and failed to score in 9 games.

Antonio Conte Leaves Tottenham Hotspur by Mutual Consent

Antonio Conte has left English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent after 1year and 4 months in charge. Antonio Conte called the Spurs players “selfish” and criticised the club’s culture at a press conference after their recent draw at strugglers, Southampton. Tottenham are currenly fourth in the EPL but are out of all cup competitions. His assistant Cristian Stellini will step up as head coach for the rest of the season, with former midfielder Ryan Mason his deputy. Conte, has won league titles with clubs Chelsea in England,Juventus and Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A. He was appointed Manager in November 2021 after Spurs sacked Nuno Espirito Santo. His departure means Tottenham are searching for their fourth permanent manager in four years since Mauricio Pochettino left in 2019.

Patrick Vieira Sacked by Crystal Palace

Arsenal and France legend, Patrick Vieira has been sacked as Manager by Crystal Palace after 18 months in charge. Vieira has left Palace after a run of 12 games without a victory in all competitions – with their last win coming against Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve 2022, leaving the London side within 3 point of the relegation zone. Vieira’s 1-0 loss to rivals Brighton, was the last straw that broke the Camel’s back. Palace chairman Steve Parish said in a statement: “It is with enormous regret that this difficult decision has been made. Ultimately, results in recent months have placed us in a precarious league position and we felt a change is necessary to give us the best chance of retaining Premier League status.

Breaking: Jesus is a Gunner for £45m

Brazillian forward Gabriel Jesus has signed a long-term contract with North London side, Arsenal from Premier League champions Manchester City for £45m. He moves to the Emirates after undergoing a medical and agreeing personal terms. Jesus will wear the No 9 shirt recently vacated by Alexandre Lacazette, who left for Lyon of france on a free transfer. The Gunners put in nearly six months of work with Jesus’ representative Marcello Pettinati to ensure they were in pole position to recruit him from City this summer. He becomes the north London club’s fourth signing of the summer following the additions of Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos.
