Brazil vs Bolivia Copa America 2019 (Group A) Date: Saturday, 15 June 2019 Kick-off at 01.30a.m

The hosts Brazil will been keen to kick with a win when they welcome Bolivia to the Estadio Morumbi for the opening game of the Copa America 2019 edition.

The last time their senior team played the home team to an international tournament, ended in extreme disaster, and the wounds are still not healed. The squad needs this title more than they want it, and the pride of the once unconquerable team in world football is in serious jeopardy.

The loss of Neymar may shock any team in the world, but not Brazil though. Such is the abundance of talent in their midst that apparently the loss of a top-three player is not that much of a setback.

Bolivia has been struggling to make any kind of an impact against teams that they took on recently, and in an opener of a major tournament, against the hosts, they are under serious pressure.

Even in the qualification fixtures that determined entrants to the World Cup 2018, the side failed to make any noise. An unimpressive ninth-place finish against these same set of teams will be an indicator about what to expect in the further next month for Bolivia.

The other two teams in the Group A; Venezuela and Peru lock horn on Sunday evening, June 16 2019.

Raptors Beat Warriors To Claim First NBA Title

The Toronto Raptors beat defending champions the Golden State Warriors 114-110 to win their first NBA title. Kawhi Leonard was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, averaging 28.5 points, as the Raptors won the best-of-seven series 4-2. The Warriors, who headed into the finals with back-to-back wins and had won three of the past four NBA titles, were without the injured Kevin Durant and lost Klay Thompson to cruciate knee ligament damage in the third quarter. Steph Curry had a chance to tie the series with a missed three-pointer when the Warriors trailed 111-110, before Leonard sealed the victory for the visitors. The Raptors are the first Canadian club side to win a major North American sports title since the Toronto Blue Jays captured Major League Baseball’s World Series in 1993. The NBA was expanded to Canada in 1995 when it incorporated the newly formed Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies – who later relocated and became the Memphis Grizzlies.

Super Falcons Beat South Korea For First Win At 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup

A brilliant goal by former Liverpool forward Asisat Oshoala helped earn Nigeria a first win at the 2019 Women’s World Cup – and all but end South Korea’s hopes of reaching the last-16. Nigeria went ahead when defender Kim Do-yeon volleyed past her own keeper. Barcelona star Oshoala held off a defender before rounding the keeper to score the Falcons’ second goal. Nigeria will confirm a place in the knockout stage if they beat hosts France, one of the tournament favourites, on Monday in Rennes. However, they could also advance as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Sensational upset as Ruiz shocks Joshua

Anthony Joshua’s bid to make a splash in his US debut ended in misery for the three belt heavyweight world champion with a stunning loss to underdog Andy Ruiz at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

Ruiz recorded a monster upset, by knocking down Britain’s Joshua four times to take the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization titles.

The 29-year-old Ruiz came into the fight as a massive 32-1 underdog. But he won it by TKO in the middle of the seventh when the referee stopped it at 1:26 of the round after the fourth knockdown.

Ruiz, sent to the canvas once himself, knocked Joshua down twice in the third round and twice more in the seventh.

“I still can’t believe it. I am still pinching myself to see if this is real,” Ruiz said.

Ruiz (33-1, 22 KOs) has been underestimated because of his physique, but he knew what was at stake and how fortunate he was to get a second chance at a world title.

He was a late replacement for Jarrell Miller, who withdrew from the bout with Joshua after failing three drug tests in April.

“Everything is possible man. Look at me, I just made history,” Ruiz said.

USA’s Andy Ruiz (off frame) knocks down England’s Anthony Joshua during their 12-round IBF, WBA, WBO & IBO World Heavyweight Championship fight at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 1, 2019.

Ruiz, who was born in San Diego and carries a US passport, considers himself Mexican and is now the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent.

“I think Mexico has a champ in every weight and now we have a heavyweight champion. I am so happy,” said Ruiz.
