July 6, 2022 BREAKING: Umana Okon Umana and 6 Others Sworn in as Ministers in President Buhari’s Cabinet
President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in seven new ministers recently screened and confirmed by the Senate. The ministers were sworn in two batches of four and three each. The first batch sworn were Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh of Abia State, Umana Okon Umana of Akwa Ibom State, Odum Odih of Rivers State and Ademola Adewole Adegoroye of Ondo State. The second batch sworn in were Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub of Kano State, Goodluck Nnana Opiah of Imo State and Egwumakama Joseph Nkama of Ebonyi State. Before the swearing in, a minute silence was observed in honour of Mohammed Barkindo, the 4th Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC Secretary-General, who died at the age of 63, Tuesday night. Those physically present were the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari. Other Ministers who in attendance included the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, Education, Adamu Adamu, Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, Mines, Steel, Olamilekan Adegbite, Environment, Mohammed Abdullahi, Ministers of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, and Budget, National Planning, Clem Agba and State, Industry Trade and Investment, Maryam Katagun. The Head of the Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, and other ministers attended the ceremony remotely.
