Statistics reflect Akwa Ibom State located in the South South region of Nigeria ranks 3rd with Teenage Pregnancy at 10.7% . This is according to the National Demographics Health Survey – NDHS – 2018.
What is most profound are strategies adopted to tackle unwanted pregnancies in the state. One of such is the use of Community Volunteers to propagate messages on Family Planning and work towards changing the narrative.
The strategies are yielding results and sustaining the gains made thus far is paramount.
A documentary on Family Planning compiled by Inspiration FM’s Health Correspondent, IMA DEM, aired minutes before the top of the hour; 12:00 PM (WAT) on February 2, 2021.
It highlights the solutions to the problem and how to uphold the approach already adopted to further reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies.
