Reactions Trail the Arrest and Subsequent Release of NLC Boss; Joe Ajaero
The release of the president of Nigeria Labour Congress, JOE AJAERO, by the Department of State Services (DSS) despite seizing his travel passport has caused so much stir across the Country.
AJAERO, who confirmed his release to newsmen, said the secret police allowed him to go home around past 11pm, but added he was grilled for about 15 hours since his arrest from 7am at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The labour leader who stated he was detained by the DSS, disclosed that some police officers also came around to grill him at the DSS office in Abuja over the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests that took place in August and alleged terrorism financing involving a British national, ANDREW WYNNE.
Recall that the NLC president was on his way to the United Kingdom, yesterday for a Trade Union Congress (TUC) event when he was arrested at Abuja airport.
Following AJAERO’s arrest, the Nigeria Labour Congress had given the secret police an ultimatum to release the labour leader while also putting all its affiliates, state councils, civil society allies and all patriotic Nigerians on the highest state of alert in the light of the development.
