University Don Prof. Ekanem Ekanem Proposes Waste Management Solutions As Dirt Threatens Akwa Ibom Roads

A University Don, from the Department of Geography and Natural Management, University of Uyo, Prof EKANEM MICHAEL EKANEM has highlighted the need for Akwa Ibom People and its Residents to take the management of their wastes seriously.

The University Don frowned at how cumbersome wastes generated by the people are on the streets, despite the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection And Waste Management Agency –AKSEPWMA doing their best to evacuate the refuse.

Professor EKANEM, who spoke with INSPIRATION FM News, recommended for the people to be a part of the waste management system.

Speaking further, he noted that a proper separation of wastes can on the long run generate income for the people as well as the Government.

NNPCL Says Increasing Crude Oil Production from 1.7mbpd to 3mbpd is Possible

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has stated that increasing crude oil production from the current 1.7 million barrels per day to 3 million barrels is achievable.

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Mr. OLUFEMI SONEYE, announced this during a Stakeholders Engagement Session with journalists covering the National Assembly on Saturday.

He attributed the potential for increased production to the political will demonstrated by President BOLA TINUBU, who has issued directives to relevant security agencies to combat oil theft and pipeline vandalism.

He added that with a collaborative effort against oil theft and pipeline vandalism, an enabling environment could be created to support optimal oil production levels of 2.5 to 3 million barrels per day.

President Tinubu Urges The Army to Maintain Giant Status of Nigeria

President BOLA TINUBU has charged the Armed Forces to engage the nation’s adversaries with more military gallantry and sophistication, saying Nigeria must maintain its status as the giant of Africa.

TINUBU gave the charge on Saturday in Kaduna at the combined passing out parade of the 71 Regular Course, Army, Navy and Air Force.

The graduands also included Direct Short Service Course 28 (Army) and Direct Short Service Course 32 (Air Force) Cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

According to newsmen, 823 officers were commissioned into the nation’s armed forces.
