Shi’ite Faults FG Claim That El-Zakzaky Was Seeking Asylum In India

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has described a recent statement credited to the Federal Government that its leader Sheikh IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY had wanted to seek asylum in India before his repatriation as part of a campaign of calumny by the government to cover its own gross misconduct in a foreign land.

This was made known in a press statement issued to newsmen yesterday by IBRAHIM MUSA, president Media Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.

IMN further accused the federal government of mischievously going beyond its role of supervision to the level of maliciously interfering in the medical process, instructing on which doctors the Sheikh and his wife must see.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY has said that he was never in actual detention in Nigeria in the last couple of years.

In a video on Youtube, the IMN leader said that he and his wife had been living large, being in a well furnished house and allowed to move freely inside the house without security presence.

He said the only security presence were outside the building and at the gate, adding that the only time he felt imprisoned was at the Indian hospital.

The video was recorded while he was on his aborted medical trip to Medanta Hospital in the Indian capital of New Delhi.

APC Blame PDP For Attack On Ekweremadu

The All Progressives Congress has condemned the attack on the immediate past Deputy Senate President and serving Senator, IKE EKWEREMADU, by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany.

The ruling party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, LANRE ISSA-ONILU, said those involved in the despicable actions and the organisation they represented were unworthy in character.

The APC blamed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for supporting IPOB in the past when it was promoting division in the country.

According to the statement, the PDP and its leaders chose to play politics over a matter that called for collective patriotic actions when IPOB raised a terror group in the South East.

In the meantime, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has also condemned the attack on former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator IKE EKWEREMADU.

Reacting, the PDP described the attack on EKWEREMADU as unacceptable, and portrays the image of Nigeria in bad light.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, KOLA OLOGBONDIYAN, the main opposition party charged the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany as well as the German government to ensure that perpetrators of the act are dealt with.

Omo-Agege Condemns Attack On Ekweremadu In Germany

Deputy Senate President, OVIE OMO-AGEGE has frowned at the attack on immediate past Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWEREMADU in Nuremberg, Germany.

OMO-AGEGE flayed the dastardly exportation of irrationality and aggressive international affront on the Igbo and Nigeria’s image.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, YOMI ODUNUGA yesterday, Senator OMO-AGEGE charged law enforcement agencies in Germany to investigate and prosecute all those involved in the vicious attack.

IKE EKWEREMADU had honoured the invitation of patriotic Igbo in Germany who wanted him to deliver a keynote address at the event.

He was however aggressively attacked by some discourteous elements who hijacked the effort to perpetrate a disgraceful assault.

FIFA Slams Samson Siasia with life ban

Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia has been slammed with a life Ban. The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee found Samson Siasia, a former official of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics.

The formal ethics proceedings against Mr Siasia were initiated on 11 February 2019 and stem from an extensive investigation into matches that Mr Wilson Raj Perumal attempted to manipulate for betting purposes.
This large-scale investigation was conducted by FIFA via its competent departments and in cooperation with the relevant stakeholders and authorities.

In its decision,the chamber found that Coach Samson Siasia breached art. 11 (Bribery) of the 2009 edition of the FIFA Code of Ethics and banned him for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.
In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 50,000 has been imposed on Mr Siasia, both sanctions take full effect immediately.
