After concluding his record transfer to Manchester United, Harry Maguire has penned an emotional tweet to Leicester City Management and Fans.

Manchester United have paid a world-record fee for a defender to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City. Maguire moves to United on a six-year deal with an option for a seventh year, for a fee understood to be around £80m.

“I am delighted to have signed for this great club,” Maguire said after completing his move to the red side of Manchester.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone at the club, and the fans, for their fantastic support over the past two seasons. However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity.

“From my conversations with the manager, I am excited about the vision and plans he has for the team. It’s clear to see that Ole is building a team to win trophies. I am now looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting the season started.”

England centre-back Maguire has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s prime transfer target to reinforce United’s defence this summer.

“He is a great reader of the game and has a strong presence on the pitch, with the ability to remain calm under pressure – coupled with his composure on the ball and a huge presence in both boxes – I can see he will fit well into this group both on and off the pitch.
Maguire was in Manchester over the weekend to complete the final details of his transfer and meet with Solskjaer and his new team-mates at the club’s Carrington training ground on Sunday.

The 26-year-old was Formally unveiled as a Manchester United player on Monday and could make his debut for his new club when Chelsea visit Old Trafford

Court in Kaduna Grants El-Zakzaky Bail

The High Court sitting in Kaduna State has granted the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife Zeenat, leave to seek medical attention in India.

In its Monday Ruling, the court ordered that the IMN leader and his wife be accompanied abroad by officials of the Kaduna State government. The presiding judge, Justice Darius Khobo ruled that El-Zakzaky and his wife should proceed to India for medical treatment.

CAS Sues For Civil Participation On Security

the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal SADIQUE ABUBAKAR has said efforts of security operatives at tackling insecurity will achieve better results if Nigerians partner with the military.

This, he said, could be done by providing timely information about the environment and neighbourhood to the security operatives.

ABUBAKAR stated this while addressing newsmen after delivering the second Distinguished Personality Lecture at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan (UI), in the Oyo State capital.

The Air Chief noted that despite the changing nature of insurgency, the air force under his watch will brace to confront threats with the ultimate aim of dealing decisively with terrorists and their nefarious activities.

The event, with the theme: Roles of the Nigerian Air Force in Internal Security Operations in Nigeria, was organised by the university’s Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies (IPSS).

The Director of IPSS, Professor TAJUDEEN AKANJI, insisted that given the changing nature of terrorism, the Nigeria Air force must brace up for other looming threats.

UI Vice Chancellor, Professor IDOWU OLAYINKA, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor KAYODE ADEBOWALE, said the lecture was part of the institution’s efforts to contribute positively to national security by bringing stakeholders to brainstorm and proffer solutions to issues and the challenges facing the country.
