FEC Approves N10.3bn for Medical Aids

The Federal Executive Council- FEC, has approved about 10.3 billion naira for the procurement of diagnostic kits for diabetes, antiretroviral drugs for resistant HIV/AIDS patients, antibiotics, anti-hypertensives and anti-diabetic medications.

Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. ALI PATE, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Council meeting presided over by President BOLA TINUBU at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Minister said that the government intervention in the health sector was in line with the President’s aspiration to ensure that Nigerians get access to quality and affordable health services.

Federal Government Introduces Digital Public Infrastructure Framework to Unify Service Delivery

The Federal Government has introduced a Digital Public Infrastructure framework to unify digital service delivery across government institutions.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy BOSUN TIJANI in a statement today on X said that the framework adopts a whole-of-government approach and leverages private sector capabilities to deliver services efficiently.

He explained that the DPI refers to a set of foundational, technology-based systems that enable seamless delivery of essential public and private services in a digital economy.

TIJANI noted that the framework will enable the government to support citizens efficiently from birth to legacy, and will provide Nigerians with seamless access to government services in a single location, eliminating fragmented service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies.

Fuel Prices Will Continue to Drop – Bismarck Rewane

the Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Company Limited, BISMARCK REWANE, has said that the price of Premium Motor Spirit will continue to decrease until June 2025.

He attributed this decline to the price war between Dangote Refinery and NNPCL.

In a television interview monitored by Inspiration FM News, REWANE suggested that the situation will stabilize after June, depending on developments in the global oil and currency markets.

He also maintained that Dangote Refinery’s reduction in the pump price of petrol is due to production cost efficiency, among other factors.

It might interest you to know that, days after Dangote Refinery announced its price reduction; the NNPCL reduced its pump price to 860 naira per litre across its stations in Lagos State.

President Tinubu Appoints Shamsudeen Ogunjimi as New Accountant General of Federation

President BOLA TINUBU has appointed SHAMSUDEEN OGUNJIMI as the new Accountant General of the Federation, after a rigorous selection process.

 

A statement by Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, BAYO ONANUGA said his appointment takes effect from 7th March 2025, the same day the incumbent OLUWATOYIN MADEHIN will retire.

 

OGUNJIMI was first named as MADEHIN’S successor, last December. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

 

President TINUBU congratulated OGUNJIMI on his appointment, and urged him to discharge his duties in the service with integrity, professionalism, and dedication to Nigeria’s service.
