Akwa United Land Jersey Sponsorship Deal with 1XBet

Holders of Nigeria Professional Football League title Akwa United Football Club have signed a shirt sponsorship contract with a foremost online betting company 1XBET.

The contract will see the reigning NPFL Champions advertise 1XBET products and services during its league matches, and on its social media platforms and well as crest the company’s logo on the front of its jersey in the 2022/2023 NPFL season.

Chairman of Akwa United Elder Paul Bassey and Managing Director of 1XBET in Nigeria Dr. Oluwafemi Babalola put pen to paper on behalf of both brands during the official signing and unveiling of the partnership agreement at Marriott hotel, Ikeja on the 25th May 2022 in Lagos

Dr. Femi Babalola in his speech said, 1XBet is proud to identify with a leading brand like Akwa United.

“We are delighted to partner with the champions of Nigeria Professional Football League Akwa United. As a leading betting company we only partner with the best brand”.

“Akwa United is a top club in Nigeria going by their records in the last five years and we have been following the progress of the club and we can say authoritatively that the club is growing steadily and that is the reason we are identifying with a leading brand like Akwa United”.

“We are working to achieve mutual benefits for both brands and to encourage the discovery of football talents in Nigeria”.

In his remarks the Chairman of Akwa United Elder Paul Bassey described the partnership as historic. “This is one of the greatest day in the history of Akwa United Football Club, a happy day for Nigerian football. It’s historic.

Bayelsa Queens wins NWFL Premiership.
Two first half goals from Monday Gift was all Bayelsa Queens FC needed to clinch the NWFL Super 6 trophy against Nasarawa Amazons.
The first goal of the game was scored in the very first minutes of the game by Monday Gift as she took advantage of a miscommunication between Nasarawa Amazons’ GoalKeeper Rita Akarekor and her defenders to slot in the opener. Her 8th of the ongoing Super 6.
Nasarawa Amazons hit back almost immediately when Basirat Amoo equalized from a well taken freekick to beat Okeke Onyinyechukwu in goal for Bayelsa Queens to make it 1-1 in the 18th minute of the game

An explosive CAF Confederations Cup Final match came to a climax on Friday night as RS Berkane of Morocco emerged winners of the 2021/2022 Campaign after seeing off Orlando Pirates via a 5-4 penalty shootouts in the finals at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

The Match was well attended by the creme the la creme of sports in Nigeria and Africa at large. The Minister of Youth and Sports development Sunday Akin Dare was hosted by Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, alongside CAF President; Patrice Motsepe, NFF President Amaju Pinnick among other top dignitaries.

The Buccaneers started sharp and created a lot of chances enough have wrapped up the game early had they been clinical enough.

As early as the third minute of the game, they had an opportunity when Goodman Mosele sent Dean Hotto through on goal with a through pass but He fluffed his lines. It was to be the first of many such opportunities to be missed.

The Orlando Pirates forward had intended to push a pass into the penalty box as they pushed Berkane into their own area.

However, his intended pass was missed by everyone and crept into the bottom right of Akbi Hamiani’s goal.

The game then went down to the lottery of Penalties as results stoof at a 1-1 draw after regulation and extra time.

RS Berkane converted all their five kicks through Hamza El Moussaoui, Youssef Zghoudi, Ismail Mokadem, Issoufou Dayo and Brahim El Bahraoui who scored the winner.

Happy Jele scored the first for Pirates before Lorch, who had scored the late equalizer, missed his spot kick.

Tshegofatso Mabasa, Thabang Monare and goalkeeper Richard Ofori all went ahead to score their Penalties but the Lorch damage had been done already.

The Win handed RS Berrkane their second Confederations cup  in three years and completed a Moroccan total dominance of the tournament in the last three years.
