IPMAN Projects Petrol Price from Dangote Refinery at N600

Independent petroleum marketers in Nigeria are hoping that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery will sell its Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, at N600 or N650/litre when it is finally released into the market.

IPMAN National Vice President, HAMMED FASHOLA, who spoke with newsmen said that the $20billion dollar Dangote refinery would bring down the cost of fuel if it gets the needed support, especially as it has to do with crude supply.

According to him, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, which is the sole importer of PMS has been selling to marketers at N570/litre, but most IPMAN members buy from private depot owners at N700 and above.

MEANWHILE, President BOLA TINUBU inaugurated 30 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered buses at the State House, Abuja, aimed to ease the burden of transportation on the citizens brought about by the removal of fuel subsidy.

The Federal Government of  Nigeria government has introduced a policy targeted at addressing the workforce challenges facing the health sector.

The new initiative, which is tagged: National Policy on Health Workforce Migration,” is aimed at tackling the critical challenges facing the country’s health human resources, aiming to manage, harness, and reverse the migration of healthcare professionals.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, MUHAMMAD PATE, disclosed this on his X handle, noting that the policy aims to stem the exodus of healthcare professionals.

The minister said the development would create an environment that encourages professional development and stability, adding that the policy seeks to retain the best talent within Nigeria.

Council Of State, Governors’ Forum Pass Vote of Confidence on President Bola Tinubu

President BOLA TINUBU has received a vote of confidence from members of the Council of State, comprising former Presidents and past Heads of State, as well as former Chief Justices of the Federation.

Yesterday’s Council of State meeting is the first presided by president TINUBU since he assumed office.

The Council members condemned the recent #EndBadGovernance protests, which DELE ALAKE, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, described as having a sinister motive with the sponsors allegedly targeting a change in government.

Former Presidents GOODLUCK JONATHAN and MUHAMMADU BUHARI were present at the meeting, while YAKUBU GOWON and ABDULSALAMI ABUBAKAR joined virtually.

However, ex-President OLUSEGUN OBASANJO neither attended physically nor joined online.

Edo State Government Resists Philip Shaibu From Parading Himself and Deputy Governor

The Edo State Government has called on PHILIP SHAIBU to stop impersonating as the deputy governor.

Recall that a Federal High Court in Abuja reinstated SHAIBU as the deputy governor of Edo State on 17th July 2024,three months after the Edo House of Assembly had impeached him.

Judge JAMES OMOTOSHO declared that SHAIBU’s impeachment by the state assembly was illegal, and ordered the Inspector General of Police to restore SHAIBU’s security details, directing that his salaries and allowances should be paid in full from April when he was removed from office.

The Edo Assembly has appealed the judgement and filed for a stay of its execution pending the determination of the appeal.

However, SHAIBU, in an interview after his reinstatement, said the judgement that reinstated him was declarative and must be implemented before an appeal could be considered.
