IPMAN Partners NNPCL to End Lingering Fuel Scarcity

Petroleum marketers have said the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL has opened its reserves across the federation to end the lingering fuel scarcity.

 

The National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, HAMMED FASHOLA and Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, BILLY HILLY-HARRY, disclosed this in a separate statement after meeting with NNPCL.

 

FASHOLA said his members will meet today, Monday 6th May, 2024 to join NNPLC to end the fuel scarcity. He further urged Nigerians not to engage in panic buying of fuel as the product will be available nationwide.

 

On his part, HILLY-HARRY said the meeting between NNPLC and marketers had helped present a solution to the fuel scarcity.

National Assembly to Probe Airlines in Nigeria Over Safety Concerns

the Joint Committee of the Senate and the House of Representatives on Aviation has announced plans to probe the Safety Investigations Bureau and airlines operating in Nigeria over alleged sharp practices.

 

The Chairman House Committee on Aviation Technology, ABIODUN AKINLADE disclosed on Sunday, saying the committee would ensure the safety of Nigerians flying on local and international airlines.

 

He added that safety of citizens was a priority of the 10th National Assembly, hence, a summit has been proposed for all stakeholders and operators in the industry to comply with global set standards.

 

According to the lawmaker, there were loopholes in the aviation industry that needed attention, which the joint committees of the upper and lower legislative chambers would like to address in the interest of air travelers.

 

To address the current challenges in the industry, he said necessary amendments will be carried out by the legislators.

Nigeria Governors Forum Assures Labor of Improved Minimum Wage

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, has assured the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, and the workers of an improved and sustainable minimum wage.

 

Despite May Day celebrations on Wednesday, the government refrained from announcing a new minimum wage, citing its reluctance to accept labour’s proposal.

 

The NGF, in a communique signed by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor, ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ, stated that it is assessing each state government’s fiscal capacity and the potential effects of different proposals to determine an enhanced minimum wage that can be feasibly sustained by the states.
