The All Progressives Congress has condemned the attack on the immediate past Deputy Senate President and serving Senator, IKE EKWEREMADU, by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany.
The ruling party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, LANRE ISSA-ONILU, said those involved in the despicable actions and the organisation they represented were unworthy in character.
The APC blamed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for supporting IPOB in the past when it was promoting division in the country.
According to the statement, the PDP and its leaders chose to play politics over a matter that called for collective patriotic actions when IPOB raised a terror group in the South East.
In the meantime, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has also condemned the attack on former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator IKE EKWEREMADU.
Reacting, the PDP described the attack on EKWEREMADU as unacceptable, and portrays the image of Nigeria in bad light.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, KOLA OLOGBONDIYAN, the main opposition party charged the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany as well as the German government to ensure that perpetrators of the act are dealt with.
