Civil Societies Organizations Query The Social Register In Akwa Ibom

Civil Societies Organisation (CSO) in Akwa Ibom state has raised concerns over the criteria and processes involved in the selection of persons which made up the State’s Social Register.

This is coming on the heels of Akwa Ibom People expressing worries that the indigent citizens who are supposed to be the beneficiaries of the intervention found it difficult to have their names on the register.

The Akwa Ibom state Social Register serves as a document that enables the poorest of the poor who are prime targets of the intervention to benefit maximally in the Bulk Purchase programme.

Reacting to this during Inspiration FM’s Talking point today, the Akwa Ibom State CSO Chairman, Mr. HARRY UDOH said that lack of proper management of the register will give room to politicians having slots and using such to settle those close to them.
