Brazilian Police Want Former President Bolsonaro Charged for Money Laundering

Brazilian Federal Police has recommended charging former President JAIR BOLSONARO with crimes including money-laundering over undeclared jewelry gifted between 2019 and 2022.

The latest police report states that officials had acted to divert expensive gifts to Mr. BOLSONARO from foreign governments.

The report submitted to the Supreme Federal Court on Monday says that cash raised from such sales was paid to the former president without using the formal banking system.

The former president is also facing other legal challenges, including an investigation into whether he incited rioters who stormed key government buildings after he narrowly lost the 2022 presidential election to his left-wing rival, LUIZ LULA DA SILVA.

The ARISE Initiative of Governor UMO ENO is impacting more lives as the Personal Assistant to the Governor in ward 8, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Area, Mr JOSHUA UYEH empowers entrepreneurs and trained manpower in strategic areas.

A statement jointly signed by Elder EBEK ETIM EBEK and Comrade OKWONG INYANG OKWONG and made available to Inspiration FM, indicates that 25 women have received wrappers and a business boost of 5000 Naira each.

According to the statement, ten people received start-up capital of 50,000 Naira, 30 persons received 30,000 naira, while six generating set and clippers were presented to five persons as support for barbing business.

In addition, seven others were trained in Welding and Aluminium Fabrication.

 Speaking on the development, the Personal Assistant to the Governor in ward 8, Mr JOSHUA UYEH commended Governor UMO ENO for his inclusive governance initiative, and also appreciated the political leaders of Urueoffong/ Oruko for appointing him to serve his people as personal assistant to the governor.

Mr UYEH also promised to use his resources for development of the youth, market women, as well as the Elderly in line with the vision of the state Governor.

Senate Calls on Federal Government to Address Hunger

The Senate has called on the federal government to as a matter of urgency address the problem of hunger in the land caused by food insecurity which has created what it described as an emergency.

 According to the Senate, President BOLA TINUBU led Federal government should take measures to fight the current food insecurity in the country by outlining some measures to combat the situation.

  It warned that with hunger and poverty in the land; patience and tolerance are not eternally elastic as people are already losing patience.

The Senate noted that over the past few months, prices of goods and household consumables have seen a significant rise in the country, leading to high inflation rates, weakened purchasing power, and a general deterioration in the living conditions of the vast majority of Nigerians.

President Tinubu Announces the Ministry of Livestock Development

President BOLA TINUBU has announced the creation of a Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, a move expected to end the perennial clashes between pastoralists and farmers.

President Tinubu approved the creation of the ministry on Tuesday when he inaugurated the Presidential Committee on Livestock Reforms at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.

 An excited Tinubu believes the creation of the ministry will resolve the lingering impasse.

Who says the solution is far? I say, ‘No, the solution is here.’ Majority of you have great experience and you want Nigeria to prosper,” he said.

To enable Nigeria to finally take advantage of livestock farming, we have seen the solution and opportunity for this adversity that has plagued us over the years and I believe the prosperity is here in our hands.”

 Recall that in September 2023, president TINUBU had announced plans to secure land for ranches and livestock production, stressing that the measure was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to resolve the longstanding farmer-herder crisis.
