Don’t abandon Leah, Chibok girls, Anglican primate tells FG

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), the Most Reverend NICHOLAS OKOH, has appealed to the Federal Government not to forget LEAH SHUAIBU and the remaining Chibok girls in Boko Haram captivity.

OKOH described the reduced attention to the girls’ release as not encouraging and expressed the need for the Federal Government to expedite action towards her release.

The primate’s appeal is contained in his opening address to the Standing Committee of the Church of Nigeria at St. Peter’s Cathedral Church in Minna, Niger State Capital.

He said no sacrifice is too much to get all those in Minna, Niger State Capital. captivity released in the interest of democracy, freedom of religion and national cohesion.

Speaking on the 2019 elections, the cleric urged INEC to be an unbiased umpire.

NEMA Recovers 12 Bodies After Terrorists Attack Farm In Borno

The National Emergency Management Agency says it has recovered 12 bodies after Boko Haram terrorists attacked a farm in Borno State.

The North East zonal coordinator of the agency, BASHIR GARGA, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday.

He said the civilian JTF in the area disclosed that the insurgents hacked 12 farmers to death as they worked on their fields in the state.

According to GARGA, the militants did not use their guns, so as not to attract the attention of troops in nearby Molai village.

He decried that Boko Haram has stepped up attacks on farmers and loggers in the state in recent years, accusing them of passing information on the group to the military.

APC post-primary crises: Amosun slams Tinubu, Osoba as anti-Oshiomhole protests spread

Ogun state Governor, IBIKUNLE AMOSUN, has fingered the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, BOLA TINUBU, and a former governor of the state, SEGUN OSHOBA, over alleged complicity in electoral fraud in the state.

AMOSUN accused the two party leaders of “conniving with a cabal in Lagos” to write a fake result which produced DAPO ABIODUN as the party’s candidate for the 2019 governorship election.

He alleged that the silence of the two party leaders, who were aware of what transpired in the state with respect to the primary, smacked of complicity.

According to AMOSUN, the President already knows there was no election in Ogun State alleging that some people went to Lagos to write results from exercise that never held.

Fayose Arraigned, Remanded in EFCC Custody

Former governor of Ekiti State, AYODELE FAYOSE is to remain in the EFCC custody as the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos did not hear his bail application after he was arraigned by the anti-graft agency.

The prosecution team had sought for time to study the bail application submitted by Fayose’s counsel.

FAYOSE’s trial at the federal High Court in Ikoyi commenced amidst heavy security but the case has been adjourned till Wednesday, October the 24th.

FAYOSE was arraigned before Justice MOJISOLA OLATOREGUN in an 11-count charge of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of N4.7 billion naira, to which he pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
