Ace Nigerian comedian cum actor, “Baba Suwe” is dead. The actor whose real name is Babatunde Omidina died at the age of 63.
Born on August 22, 1958 in Lagos Nigeria, Baba Suwe ventured into acting in 1971 but came into the limelight after he featured in a movie titled, Omolasan, a film produced by Obalende.
In His Life time, Baba Suwe featured and produced several Nigerian movies as a comic figure to the delight of his teeming fans and lovers.
The news of his death was confirmed by the president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan Popularly knows as Mr Latin, who could not confirm the cause of his death.
In 2011, he was arrested for suspected possession of cocaine with the aim of trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, an allegation that could not be proven and later described as false and defamatory by the ruling of the Lagos State High Court.

It was a weekend of double celebrations as Ace Newscaster and Head of the News Department of Inspiration 105.9 FM, Uyo; Imaobong Dem, Over the course of the week won 2 Prestigious Outstanding Media Performance Awards courtesy of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
The awards were for Outstanding HIV – THEMED RADIO PROGRAMME CONTENT, and Outstanding HUMAN INTEREST STORY ON HIV/AIDS.
HIV/AIDS Media Advocacy Initiative kicked off in February 2021, with the clearly set aim of increasing HIV/AIDS reportage to aid the HIV/AIDS response in the South and drive decline in the Prevalence.
Ima Dem in her acceptance speech returned all glory to Almighty God for the awards. He went further to thank her Family, The Amazing Inspiration group and listeners globally who she described as her daily motivation to do more.
Imaobong described the awards as a call to do more in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Today we join the rest of the World to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child #dayofthegirl. This year’s celebration is themed the “DIGITAL GENERATION”.
The day focuses on the rights, safety and education of girls. The core objective is to make girls an active part of the progress of the world.
