Many Women Remain in Abusive Relationships Because of Food and Sex – SoSoSoberekon

Celebrity talent manager and producer, Soso Soberekon, has expressed dropped a relationship bombshell on his perceived reasons why some women continue to live in abusive marriages.

In a post seen on his official Instagram page on Wednesday, Soso claimed that most women continue to live with their violent spouses because of  material things.

Soso Soberekon  wrote, “A man who beats you in a relationship can kill you in marriage. But p*nis, sharwama, catfish pepper soup, nkwobi & goodies will not let you have sense.”

Angelique Kidjo Wins 2023 Polar Music Award

Multi Grammy award winner, Angelique Kidjo has won the 2023 Polar Music Prize, one of Europe’s top music prizes on Tuesday alongside Britain’s Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records, and Estonian composer Arvo Part.

Angelique Kidjo,best known for her multi-platinum hits “Agolo” and “We We”,
was described by the organisers of Sweden’s Polar Music Prize as “one of the greatest singer-songwriters in international music”, sings in native Fon and Yoruba languages as well as in French and English.

Chris Blackwell founded the Island Records label in Jamaica that went on to sign such legendary stars as Bob Marley, Cat Stevens, Roxy Music and U2.

Estonia’s Arvo Part, who the jury described as “the world’s most performed living composer”, was highlighted for his “unique compositional technique, tintinnabuli” which he invented in the 1970s.

The Polar Music Prize was founded in 1989 by former ABBA manager Stig Anderson and last year honoured Iggy Pop and US songwriter Diane Warren.

The laureates will receive their 600,000 kroner ($58,000) prize at a ceremony in Stockholm on May 23.

Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido seems to have completed his full return to the music scene after the tragic death of his only son, Ifeanyi David Adeleke on October 31, 2022.

The singer announced his readiness to release his fourth music album on March 31, via a social media post on Tuesday, March 21.

 

In the social media post, he wrote, “There is a time for everything. A time to Grieve and a time to Heal. A time to Laugh and a time to Dance. A time to Speak & A time for Silence. Thank you to everyone out there for your love and that has held me down. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st.

“All the love and messages while I was away, the gifts sent, the concerts you all threw! I appreciate it all. Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless, was once new. It’s time for new.”

Davido’s team describes the album ‘Timeless’ as a body of work that remains true to Davido’s core as an artist.

Timeless is “a body of work that goes beyond fashion and trends. It’s an authentic body of work that remains true to Davido’s core as an artist, using his music to bring joy to his fans across the world. The songs you hear today will be just as relevant tomorrow, that’s why it’s Timeless.”

Tems Brings Home Grammy as Burna Boy loses out

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as “Tems”, has bagged her first Grammy award in the 2023 ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category.

Tems won the award for her vocal and writing contribution to the smashing hit ‘Wait For U’ by Future featuring Drake and herself, making it her first Grammy award win after four nominations.

Tems becomes the first female Nigerian artiste to win a Grammy award by bringing home this Laurel.

Others nominated for the category won by Tems included DJ Khaled Featuring Future & SZA (Beautiful); Jack Harlow (First Class); Kendrick Lamar Featuring Blxst & Amanda Reifer (Die Hard) and Latto – Big Energy (Live).

Meanwhile, “Last-Last” Crooner Burna Boy lost in both the Global music and Global Performance categories for “Love, DAmini” and “Last,Last” respectively.
