Similarly, the Chief of Defence Staff, General CHRISTOPHER MUSA on Wednesday noted that President BOLA AHMED TINUBU has no favourite candidate in the Governorship election in Edo State.

The Chief of Defencestated this at a meeting with the stakeholders, including INEC, Police and other security agencies in Benin City.

MUSA said the President’s favourite will be the person the electorate in the state elected as their governor, emphasizing that the military will not take sides in the election.

Governor Obaseki who was on hand to receive the Chief of defense Staff said all the edo people desire is a free and fair poll, which is devoid of violence.

The tension in Edo state ahead of the gubernatorial poll has been heightened over fears of possible violence during the elections, a situation which led to the incumbent Governor turning down a peace accord in the state.
