Atiku Accuse Buhari Of Trying To Frame Obasanjo

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 2019 election, ATIKU ABUBAKAR has raised alarm of a plot by President BUHARI’s government to frame former President OLUSEGUN OBASANJO.

According to ATIKU, the government was desperately plotting to implicate the former president, to stop him from criticizing BUHARI’s administration.

ATIKU, in a statement by his media office, also alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was feeding members of the media with deliberate falsehoods in an attempt to cause disaffection between him and OBASANJO on one hand, and between OBASANJO and Nigerians in general.

He said the BUHARI government was bent on silencing OBASANJO’s voice, which he claimed they see as the pre-eminent critical voice against the misrule that  have been foisted on Nigerians.

Obono-Obla Fingers Osinbajo In His Ordeal With ICPC

the suspended Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, OKOI OBONO-OBLA, has said the planned investigation by Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) would not be fair.

According to him, this is due to the closeness of the commission’s Chairman, Professor BOLAJI OWANSANOYE, to Vice-President YEMI OSINBAJO.

OBONO-OBLA stated this in a suit he filed to challenge the said probe for alleged certificate forgery and extortion.

Through his lawyer, Mr. FARUK KHAMAGAM, OBONO-OBLA also filed an ex parte application seeking an urgent hearing of the suit.

As sighted in the court papers, the plaintiff alleged that part of the reasons he was suspended as the SPIP chairman was that he was not taking instructions from OSINBAJO.

OBONO-OBLA also linked his travails to the investigations he launched against influential persons and organisations.

The House of Representatives has begun investigations into  the Federal Government’s projects, abandoned since 1999 by the Federal Government.

An ad hoc committee set up by the House to probe abandoned projects in the communications sector, including the Closed Circuit Television camera projects, held its inaugural meeting in Abuja.

Chairman of the committee, Mr CHUKWUMA UMEOJI, said the parliament would prosecute those behind the failed projects.

UMEOJI noted that Ministries, departments, agencies, parastatals, commissions and boards have awarded contracts for the execution of several capital projects since the nation returned to democratic rule in 1999.

The lawmaker said they would invite all stakeholders and call for memorandums to help them in their investigations. A member of the committee, Mr ADIGUN ADEKUNLE, said they had compiled the list of the abandoned projects.
