Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says over 80 per cent of Nigeria’s crude oil were stolen annually.

Obasanjo stated this in Abuja at the launching of a book writer by Dr. Umar Ardo titled, ‘Court and Politics,’.

In a separate mission covering the Igabi, Giwa, and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, troops from the 1 Division neutralized insurgents and recovered additional firearms and ammunition in encounters with the insurgents. During a routine patrol along the Maganda-Dausayi – Mugaba axis, army troops engaged insurgents in a firefight. Although the exact number of insurgents couldn’t be determined, the troops neutralized two of them and confiscated 1 AK 47 rifle, 1 AK 47 Magazine, 3 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, a Techno phone, 3 Hilux and motorcycle keys, suspected marijuana, tramadol tablets, and 13,200 Naira in the one-hour-long gun duel.
