Akwa Ibomites React to Mass Failure in UTME

following the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), residents of Uyo metropolis have expressed concerns over mass failure recorded in the examination.

You will recall that, JAMB yesterday, released a breakdown of the results, where, 983,187 candidates scored between 160 and 199, while, 488,197 candidates scored between 140 and 159.

According to the released result, only 0.24%, that is 4,754 scored 320 and above, while 73,441 candidates scored between 250 and 299.

Speaking with Inspiration FM news, the Residents attributed the poor performance in examination to candidates’ lack of seriousness, rather than issues with the examination board.

The 2025 UTME results comes amid increasing scrutiny of Nigeria’s education system and underscore the need for ongoing reforms to improve student preparedness and institutional accountability.

In a video posted on social media, NETANYAHU threatened strikes against the group.

The missile, fired from Yemen by the Iran-backed group, landed near the main terminal of Ben Gurion airport.

Four people were injured by the blast, with another two injured on their way to a shelter.

Houthi military spokesperson YAHYA SAREE said in a televised statement that the Israeli airport was “no longer safe for air travel”.

Governor UZODINMA  described it as a positive development that key political leaders from the region, including the Deputy Speaker, two state governors, federal lawmakers, and ministers, are all serving under the APC platform.

INEC Denies Announcing Dates for Resumption of Continuous Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission has denied reports claiming that it has fixed a date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, including related services such as transfer and replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, ROTIMI OYEKANMI via X.

According to the statement, the commission urged the public to disregard an anonymous message circulating online, which falsely claims that the CVR will resume on May 27, 2025.

INEC reaffirmed that it has not yet announced any date for the resumption of these activities.
