JAMB Releases 2025 UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

The Board disclosed that the results of 39,834 candidates have been withheld.

JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. ISHAQ OLOYEDE disclosed this during the official release of the 2025 UTME results at JAMB headquarters in Bwari, Federal Capital Territory.

OLOYEDE stated that the seizure of results was due to suspected examination malpractices. He also disclosed that about 80 individuals are being probed for exam-related offences, with Anambra State having the highest number of suspects.

The Governor also commended the Senate President, Distinguished Senator GODSWILL AKPABIO for his collaboration with the state government and for facilitating the appointment of indigenes of Akwa Ibom State into key federal positions.

 

Wishing the Newly appointed MD a fruitful and impactful tenure, Governor ENO acknowledged her dedication to development issues, particularly in rural communities across the South South geopolitical zone.

NSCDC Denies Shielding Any Corrupt Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom State Command, has reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline and integrity, stating that it will not condone any form of illegality by its personnel.

This statement comes in response to recent reports alleging that the command is shielding some of its officers from investigations into corruption and gross misconduct.

An online media platform had published a report accusing the command of complicity in corruption and other illegal activities involving its Head of Anti-Vandal Operations, SC MICHAEL ASIBOR.

The report alleged that despite several petitions, the officer has neither been suspended nor prosecuted. It further claimed that SC ASIBOR was involved in collusion with illegal oil bunkerers, bribery, abuse of power, and other misconduct.

Reacting to the allegations in Uyo, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Akwa Ibom, SC FRIDAY EKERETE, categorically denied the claims. He stated that the command has not received any petition implicating the officer in any form of corruption.

Police in Akwa Ibom Arrest Pipeline Vandals in Ikot Abasi

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended a suspect in connection with attempted pipeline vandalism in Ikot OboronEnyin Village, located in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP TIMFON JOHN, the suspect was arrested yesterday following a distress call received from a Marine Police officer.

The statement noted that police operatives were swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they successfully apprehended one suspect, identified as EKWERE ERNEST, a 36-year-old male from Ukam Village in the Edemeya Clan. Several exhibits were also recovered at the scene.

DSP TIMFON JOHN confirmed that the suspect and the recovered items are currently in police custody for further investigation.
