In neighbouring Rivers state, former Nigerian president, Dr GOODLUCK JONATHAN has called for ceasefire between the Rivers State Governor, Sir SIM FUBARA and his predecessor Barr NYESOM WIKE, stressing the need for them to work together.

Dr GOODLUCK JONATHAN noted that Rivers State is very critical in Nigeria, describing the oil-rich state as the heart of the Niger Delta which if destabilized could impact negatively on the region and the country.

The former president who stated this at the flag-off ceremony of the construction of Trans-Kalabari Road, Rumulumeni, in rivers state commended Governor SIM FUBARA for undertaking the project while also urging the beneficiaries to take responsibility.

Earlier in his address, the governor, Sir SIM FUBARA stated that the project is in fulfilment of his campaign promises to the Kalabari people, adding that the project when completed will enhance economic development in the area.

He assured that despite the expensive cost of the project, his administration is equal to the task, while also urging stakeholders’ cooperation for the success of the project.
