The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, MUDASHIRU OBASA, has insisted that he remains the Speaker of the Assembly.

 In a television interview monitored by Inspiration FM yesterday, OBASA stated he has never been impeached as the Speaker.

Mr. OBASA who was removed over alleged financial misconduct says he remains the speaker of the house of assembly until the right procedure is followed.

It would be recalled that in January, lawmakers had impeached OBASA, who was in the United States, and swore in his deputy, MOJISOLA MERANDA, as the new Speaker, and she received the endorsement of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.
