the Nigerian Labour Congress in Akwa Ibom has urged workers in the state to remain calm while disclosing that adequate modalities are being worked out by appropriate authorities to arrive at equitable payment of the new minimum wage across all levels.
This follows concerns expressed by some workers in the state over the yet-to-be implemented 70,000 Naira minimum wage which was approved by the federal government.
Speaking with Inspiration FM News, the Labour Chairman, Comrade SUNNY JAMES appreciated Akwa Ibom workers for believing in their leaders and therefore assured them of their commitments to protect workers interests in the state.
Comrade SUNNY JAMES noted that the seeming delay in the implementation is not unconnected with efforts of government to effect payment in the right proportion, reiterating his appeal to the workforce  in the state to trust the process.
Meanwhile, Inspiration FM News gathered that some states in Nigeria have begun implementation of the minimum wage for their workers with Ogun State government approving 77,000 Naira while Gombe State 71,500 Naira.
However, the workers in Akwa Ibom state have been urged to continue to hope for a better outcome and future.
