Students of the University of Uyo have voiced concern over the continuous increase in housing costs, warning that the financial strain is negatively affecting their academic performance.
In interviews conducted by Inspiration FM correspondent EBINDA JESSICA, students explained that the rising cost of rent has made it increasingly difficult to manage accommodation expenses alongside academic obligations.
Many expressed frustration that the rent hikes have not been matched by improvements in housing conditions or facilities.
According to the students, greater collaboration between school authorities and landlords is essential to ensuring access to affordable and decent housing, which they say would significantly enhance their ability to concentrate on their education without undue financial stress.
