May 10, 2025 NSCDC Denies Shielding Any Corrupt Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom State Command, has reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline and integrity, stating that it will not condone any form of illegality by its personnel.

This statement comes in response to recent reports alleging that the command is shielding some of its officers from investigations into corruption and gross misconduct.

An online media platform had published a report accusing the command of complicity in corruption and other illegal activities involving its Head of Anti-Vandal Operations, SC MICHAEL ASIBOR.

The report alleged that despite several petitions, the officer has neither been suspended nor prosecuted. It further claimed that SC ASIBOR was involved in collusion with illegal oil bunkerers, bribery, abuse of power, and other misconduct.

Reacting to the allegations in Uyo, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Akwa Ibom, SC FRIDAY EKERETE, categorically denied the claims. He stated that the command has not received any petition implicating the officer in any form of corruption.
