The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says it would soon roll out its diaspora contactless enrolment software to enable Nigerians in Diaspora experience seamless enrolment for National Identity Number (NIN).
So far over 118 million Nigerians have been captured in the National Identity database of the country with 15,000 NIN enrolment centres nationwide.
It is also reported that for now there are about 200 NIN enrolment centres in 50 countries outside Nigeria to provide NIN services for Nigerians in diaspora.
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, ENGR ABISOYE COKER-ODUSOTE dropped the hints while Speaking with newsmen in Abuja.
ENGR COKER-ODUSOTE said NIMC within the past 18 months has achieved certain milestones to scale up financial inclusion, promote employment opportunities for Nigerians, enhance transparency and accountability in delivery of government services and boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP.
