Governor UMO ENO has urged the youth to pursue excellence, competence, and capability, and be deeply committed to education.

Governor ENO, who was represented by his Deputy, Senator AKON EYAKENYI gave the charge while inaugurating the newly constructed Holy Child Convent Model Primary School in Abak Local Government Area over the weekend.

The Governor emphasized that his clear vision for the future stems from his recognition of the profound value of education.

He also assured the people of Abak that their needs, raised during the town hall meeting on March 8, would be incorporated into the 2026 state budget.

On his part, the Commissioner for Education, Professor UBONG UMOH, highlighted the impressive features of the new facility, which includes 19 fully-equipped classrooms, an ICT lab, a well-stocked library, a head teacher’s office and waiting area, an auditorium, and an ultra-modern football field, among other state-of-the-art facilities.

The state government called on local government officials, head teachers, and the people of Abak to take responsibility for the upkeep of the infrastructure to ensure its long-term sustainability and foster continued development in the state.
