The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in all the 30 local government areas in Osun State.

The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), HASHIM ABIOYE, announced this at a press conference at the weekend.

The commission defied warnings by the police and the Attorney General of the Federation, LATEEF FAGBEMI, to put the poll on hold.

Governor ADEMOLA ADELEKE, reacting to the outcome of the election, praised the electoral commission for being transparent, adding that the exercise was peaceful.

Meanwhile, the governor has sworn-in the newly elected chairmen as he administered the oath of allegiance and oath of office on the 30 local government chairmen and vice-chairmen at the Osun State Government House.
