January 3, 2025 Peter Obi Charges President Tinubu to Reduce International Travels

The Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, Mr. PETER OBI has advised President BOLA TINUBU to reduce his overseas trips and engage in more local tours in order to understand the deplorable state of Nigerian roads.

Mr. OBI, who stated this in a press conference monitored by inspiration FM news this morning, frowned that out of approximately 580 days in office, the president has spent 30% or 180 days in 30 publicly recorded foreign trips.

He mentioned that local visits will give the President a good opportunity to understand the economic and security wrongs across the country, and also visiting schools, hospitals, and other facilities across the country will help the President make informed decisions on how to upgrade and make them efficient.

Speaking further PETER OBI emphasized his stand on Taxation in the country, saying it is wrong for the federal government to tax over 100 million citizens, when Nigeria is more of a consumption country.

He suggests that what should be done now instead on focusing on taxing poor and suffering citizens, is to make the country productive with a seemingly stable economy and then introduce proper taxation to generate revenue.
