The National Judicial Council (NJC) has suspended G. C. AGUMA, judge of a state high court in Rivers, and A. O. NWABUNIKE, Anambra state high court judge for alleged judicial misconduct.
According to a statement by the council, both chief judges are barred from performing judicial functions for a period of one year without pay and would be placed on a watch-list for two years thereafter.
The council said the decision was reached at its 107th meeting chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, KUDIRAT KEKERE-EKUN on November 13 and 14.
A total of 5 serving Judicial Officers were sanctioned for various acts of misconduct.
The Council also recommended two Heads of Court for compulsory retirement over falsification of age.
