The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor UMO ENO, has urged the newly- inaugurated Chairmen of Local Government Councils in the state to liaise with leaders and stakeholders in their areas to ensure equitable spread of the appointments of Supervisory Councillors across the various wards of their area.
Governor ENO made the call while addressing supporters who thronged Ikot AkpaEkop, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, to receive him while visiting the InyangEkpewo family, to officially inform them of the demise of his wife and First Lady, Pastor PATIENCE UMO ENO, who, until her death, was a member of the family.
The Governor said an equitable spread of political appointments will ensure harmony at the grassroots and engender a sense of belonging and a spirit of ownership.
Speaking of his bereavement, Governor UMOÂ ENO thanked God for the legacies of his late wife, describing her as a blessing to his life whose memories, he pledged to sustain throughout his life.
He therefore assured Mkpat Enin people that he would complete all pending projects in the area and even initiate more as a gesture of his continuous respect for the marriage relationship, especially to honour the memory of the late First Lady.
