The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has inaugurated the Normalization Committee for Akwa Ibom State Football Association.

The committee is headed by Otuekong Bonny Nyong as Chairman, Hon. Saturday Akpan as Vice Chairman while Mr. John Clayton is the Secretary. Other members are Elder Ini Edoho, Mr. Ferdinard Udoh and Mr. Bassey Ibiatisuho.

President, Ibrahim Gusau, represented by the Head, Member Association and Special Duties, Ali Abubakar, said the committee has a time frame of three months within which to conduct local council elections across the state as well as the state FA elections.

He tasked the committee to carry out all the functional duties, obligations and responsibilities of the state Football Association as stipulated in its statutes and those of the Nigeria Football Federation and to restore normalcy to the administration of football in the state.

The NFF President who was accompanied by the General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, represented by his Special Assistant on General Duties, Ameenu Mohammed, expressed confidence in the capacity of the committee members to deliver on their assigned responsibilities and called on all football stakeholders in the state to support the committee to succeed.

Responding, the Chairman of the Normalization Committee, Otuekong Bonny Nyong thanked the Nigeria Football Federation for trusting members of the committee to deliver the job and promised that the committee will work in line with the statutes guiding football in Nigeria in the discharge of its duty.

He appealed to stakeholders to cooperate with the committee and support it to work in the interest of all football-loving Akwa Ibomites.

The inauguration was witnessed by relevant football stakeholders as well as Directors in state Ministry of Youth Sports.
