I won’t return to court for trial –Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, NNAMDI KANU, has vowed not to return to the Federal High Court in Abuja where he was standing trial before he left the country.

The Federal Government had charged him with treason but Justice BINTA NYAKO granted him bail after 18 months in detention.

KANU had flouted all the terms of the bail before the military invaded his Abia residence on September 14, 2017.

He fled afterwards and resurfaced in Jerusalem on Friday.

In a broadcast via Radio Biafra, KANU boasted that the Nigerian court lacked the capacity to try him.

He said the judge who asked his sureties to produce him should have asked the army why they invaded his residence.

The State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the state capital, two days after dozens of people were killed in Kasuwa Magani village.

Governor, NASIR EL-RUFAI, disclosed this via his verified Twitter account on Sunday.

This follows heightened tension over anticipated reprisal by a group of youths as residents reportedly scamper for safety.

Consequently, a combined team of security operatives including soldiers, police and operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have been deployed in the state capital.

The security personnel have taken over the major roads and flashpoints in the metropolis, to avert any form of breakdown of law and order.

No fewer than 55 lives were lost, and several others injured when some youths attacked the market on Thursday.

NEMA Recovers 12 Bodies After Terrorists Attack Farm In Borno

The National Emergency Management Agency says it has recovered 12 bodies after Boko Haram terrorists attacked a farm in Borno State.

The North East zonal coordinator of the agency, BASHIR GARGA, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday.

He said the civilian JTF in the area disclosed that the insurgents hacked 12 farmers to death as they worked on their fields in the state.

According to GARGA, the militants did not use their guns, so as not to attract the attention of troops in nearby Molai village.

He decried that Boko Haram has stepped up attacks on farmers and loggers in the state in recent years, accusing them of passing information on the group to the military.

APC post-primary crises: Amosun slams Tinubu, Osoba as anti-Oshiomhole protests spread

Ogun state Governor, IBIKUNLE AMOSUN, has fingered the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, BOLA TINUBU, and a former governor of the state, SEGUN OSHOBA, over alleged complicity in electoral fraud in the state.

AMOSUN accused the two party leaders of “conniving with a cabal in Lagos” to write a fake result which produced DAPO ABIODUN as the party’s candidate for the 2019 governorship election.

He alleged that the silence of the two party leaders, who were aware of what transpired in the state with respect to the primary, smacked of complicity.

According to AMOSUN, the President already knows there was no election in Ogun State alleging that some people went to Lagos to write results from exercise that never held.
