Police Disperse Mohbad “Protesters” with Tear Gas.

Some fans of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba a.k.a Mohbad, were on Thursday night  dispersed with teargas at the Lekki Tollgate, Lagos State, after the candle procession and tribute concert which held at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island. While announcing the event on Monday night via the official X handle of the deceased, the management said it did “appreciate the outpouring of love from fans across the world to the ones who’ve organized events in their communities as a way to honour and pay respect to our shining light we say thank you. Join us for Mohbad’s candlelight procession and tribute concert.” Some participants after the event however moved to the Lekki tollgate where they obstructed traffic, and refused to leave despite Videos of Police pleading with them to do same. Popular Radio Celebrity Dotun took to his instagram page to condemn the attempt to turn the candle procession into a protest.

MohBad: Management, Fans and Friends to Hold Tribute Concert and Peace Walk

The management of late Nigerian music singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, a.k.a Mohbad, has announced a candlelight procession and tribute concert in honor of the late artiste. Mohbad, died suddenly last Tuesday at the age of 27. Since Mohbad’s death, his music fans and sympathizers have called for a proper investigation to know the cause of his death, prompting the Nigeria Police as well as the Lagos state Government to swing into immediate action. Taking to the social media handles of the late singer on Monday night, the management “appreciate the outpouring of love from Fans across the world to the ones who’ve organized events in their communities as a way to honour and pay respect to our shining light we say thank you. Join us for Mohbad’s candlelight procession and tribute concert.” The candlelight procession will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, by 5 pm at Lekki Phase 1 Gate while the Tribute Concert starts 8pm at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos State.

Court Jails Tik-Tok User for Bullying Nollywood Star, Eniola Badmus

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a user on popular social media platform; Tik-Tok, named Blessing Nwakaego Okoye, to three years imprisonment for social media bullying of  Nollywood star actress, Eniola Badmus. Tiktoker, Okoye Blessing Nwakego, better known as Ego, had accused actress Eniola Badmus of connecting girls to top politicians in Nigeria for prostitution. Justice Nicholas Oweibo convicted and sentenced Okoye after she pleaded guilty to the charges of Cyber stalking leveled against her, and was given an option of N150, 000 fine in lieu of the sentence. Nwakaego Okoye and one Chimabia, now at large, were accused of having conspired to commit the offence between December 2022 and July 2023 in Lagos. It added that the offence contravened sections 24 (1) (b), (2) (a) (c), and 27 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
